Gen Z Stare
When you walk up to the counter to place an order and the person on the other side just stands there and says nothing. They're waiting for the person to say 'hi, i'm ready to order' but at no point in history has that been how that interaction begins. The person at the counter is meant to say something along the lines of 'hi! what can I get for you today' or 'Hey, can I help you?' Instead, they just stare, slack jawed because the majority of their social interaction happens through a screen and actual in person social interactions give them crippling anxiety. They never learned how to *start* a conversation.
Alternatively, it can also happen if you ask a question to said service worker that lands outside the typical interaction for their position.
"Do you know if this place uses peanut oil? I'm allergic."
*STARES in short circuited mind*
Another example:
"Hey when you took our tickets for the movie we never got 3D glasses. Do you have them here at your station or can I find them somewhere else?"
*STARES slightly slack jawed*
"Um...the 3D glasses. Are they here or somewhere else?"
*Says nothing, slowly reaches down to a drawer, pulls it open, and hands me a pair of glasses*

Jesus Christ man, I went back out to get the 3D glasses for the movie and was hit with a major gen Z stare.
