onlan

Adjective used to describe the state of activities performed in relation to a corporate or private network, typically via a VPN. When onlan, internal resources are available, as one has a connection through a VPN. Interestingly, depending on the setup of the VPN, offlan resources--such as public web sites--may be inaccessible.

Antonym: offlan
Sorry, but the files you want are only available onlan. You'll need to connect to the VPN to download them.

Get the onlan mug.

offlan

Adjective used to describe the state of activities performed in relation to a corporate or private network, typically via a VPN. When offlan, no VPN connection is available; hence, no internal resources are available. One may still have network access to the Internet or other resources, but when offlan, internal web sites or other servers are unavailable.

Antonym: onlan
Even though I had signal, I was offlan, so I could not get to the files you put on the server.
