Mask the soul

A game Chucky and Charlene play with everybody even when it's not Halloween nowadays.
Chucky and Charlene wanted to hide everyone's faces from each other, so they decided to play a game of mask the soul, always changing the rules before anyone could catch on to them and find a rhythm.

Confederate statues

A surface object to represent the power struggle that was the Civil War, as all wars are really power struggles.
The Civil War wasn't about Confederate statues any more than it was about slavery, but if certain people are listened to and taken seriously, you would think it was.

Strong one

The one that has to weaken, destroy, or humiliate everyone around them but themselves is not the strong one. The one that creates a spiral of betrayal, deceit, or tries to drive everyone around them crazy but themselves or set death traps to ensure their own survival isn't the strong one. As long as someone like that is around, nobody is allowed to be the strong one(s).
Not everyone has a strong one buried somewhere under their skin, but many do, though it's hard to see it when darkness prevails.

Fake person

Someone that transports everyone in a courtroom to a fake middle school reality when they refer to somebody they were fucking while he was alive (before stabbing him to death) as a "boyfriend". Somebody that thinks the word orgasmic is crude language (badass because they said it), but wants anyone that says fuck, shit, ass, or anything else that can be considered cursing or swearing by anybody to be penalized for it.
It's the fake person you gotta watch, not the quiet one.

Motive

Whether a motive is clear or unclear, cops know that somebody has to be motivated to have a motive, that's why they came up with a motive to call it. If it were lazy people doing the killing, it would be called something else, probably something like an unmotive. Possible unmotives might be the guy stole my doritos or smoked my last cigarette, and he knew deep down that he deserved it.
It wouldn't be a motive without the motivation to do it.

Reputation

The free spirit/non-reputation is still a reputation. The person still has to keep up their counter-reputation, otherwise people will find out what they really do when nobody is looking.
Someone claiming to be a free spirit isn't really someone that doesn't care what anybody thinks of him/her, it is somebody desperate to convince people that he/she doesn't care what anybody thinks, and the same applies to any image someone goes for (including the telling everyone else to be themself image even if they already are themselves). As long as the person has to convince other people they don't care what anyone thinks of them, they have a reputation of some sort to protect, no matter what they tell you to the contrary.

Unbearable

Something that is too much to bear.
The girl thought she was unbearable and scary, she thought she was a shark, when in reality she was a socially awkward little girl with minimal self control. Anybody in town was able to tolerate her presence there, they just didn't have to. They deserved the happy, peaceful town it once was without her in it (the one they originally came from), back when she lived in her own town, the one she was originally from.
