Caring what other people think of you is not the same thing as allowing other people to influence your decisions or what you like and dislike (or who you are). It is possible to be who you are and still care what people think of you.
Everybody is at least somewhat self conscious, no matter the image they portray themselves as. Usually the ones most desperate to convince others they don't care what anybody thinks of them are the most self conscious people in the world.

The bible story that put more of the wrong people in power than just about any other story. Napoleon and Hitler most likely saw a little bit of David in themselves (even though they weren't Jewish kings), and likened themselves to David, fighting their opponents with a slingshot and outwitting them.
David and Goliath is a story of a Jewish youth who defeats a larger opponent, and more people who are not Jewish have used it to gain support for their cause/make it more popular (especially if its bullshit) than just about any other bible story.

An example of how new technology does something better, but you sacrifice something to get it. Kids are now growing up without the ability to say Luke I am your father into their bladed fans.
Kids born in the last 10 years or so aren't going to get to talk into their fans or rewind videocassettes thanks to newer technology that eliminates most of this stuff from people's lives. A lot of the new fans are bladeless fans. Is newer technology always better?

A kind of frisbee golf where there's no whining about sucker punches, elbows, knees, or kicks. Hitting somebody in the face with a frisbee is a hole in one, and if their glasses shatter, you get points taken off your score to make it even lower.
Jonas succumbed to his injuries on hole 18 after a particularly rough round of Full contact frisbee golf.

If some are calling these days the most information ate, and journalists are the ones keeping people informed, that means at least some are the journalists are giving people bullshit instead of good information.
At least some of the journalists are keeping people misinformed, and not informed, if there is any truth to post information age.
