Mayberry Affair

Named after the fictional town of Mayberry (The Andy Griffith Show 1960-1968), it denotes the cover up of scandals that do not give justice to a singular person or group of people (such as a town or church), in order to preserve a “squeaky clean” image.

Usually executed by local law enforcement or authorities therein, it may hide and delete all evidence of sexual and physical abuse, meth lab explosions, embezzlement, universal discrimination (racial, religious, sexual orientation), gang violence, and more.

Thanks to the newly enacted Mayberry Affair, the meth lab explosion on June 7th, 2025 was covered up as a structure fire caused by fireplace ashes.
