Alison is a word used to describe a woman of incredible beauty.

She is often well educated and able to turn any conversation into an erudite discussion. Her ability to hold another's attention cannot be downplayed.

Alison originates from the early 1500s and was originally used as terminology to describe a woman who sought to tease, or be playful with, members of the same sex. It is thought that should someone be teased then then were often getting 'an Alison'. However, these circumstances were usually undertaken with lines of courtship and appropriate behaviour.

In Greek Alison can be traced back to 'li' meaning to be breakable. Common use of Alison was therefore used to describe a woman clumsy in nature or who often fell. It was not insulation for Alison to describe a woman of such intense beauty that she caused others around her to fall and thus Alison was both the fall itself and the cause of the fall.
I would really like to take Alison out for dinner, she's so Alison.

Oh, she's done an Alison.

Alison is just Alison. Perfect.
