In new york most of the prisons are in the northern part of the state so when someone says up north they are usually talking about prison. the turm did not come from hip hop it was in exsitance long before hip hop. up north can also mean upstate new york anywhere above westchester county

d.f.y stands for division for youth correctional facilities in new york state they are also know as glatiator schools

I was in a d.f.y in tryon new york back in the early 90's 10 years before me another famous new yorker was also in that same d.f.y mike tyson!

bash was short for bay area skinheads in the 1980's a gang of racially concious skinheads who did some stupid things,but also helped combate anti-white bias and gang relate crimes against whites. also a group of skinheads in brooklyns avenue n park used the name bash short for brooklyn area skinheads

probably the majority of sf's bash members are now gash -gay aryan skinheads lol

hammer skins is a orginization sometimes refered to as a gang that has the largest concentration of pro-white skinheads in the united states they have a few splinter groups and factions with in hammer skins such as eastern hammerskins,westen hammerskins,confederate hammerskins. they took their name from the 1982 movie the wall where a fictional group of skinheads in the movie where called hammer skins they are known for orginizing rock against communism concerts ,providing security at various gigs here and abroad and running independent record labels. many hammer skins hold reguler jobs,but probably 20% make their living through criminal activity
