A national resumption, enabled by development of a vaccine for covid-19.
The country would wait as long as necessary for a vaccinational reopening.

Anxression 

A reasonable response to an uncertain moment, compounded of depression and anxiety.
Locked at home by herself, her job gone, the world outside her door vacated beyond recognition, she felt it appropriate to be drowning in anxression. There was not one goddamned thing to be pathologized in not getting out of bed, keeping the lights off and eating ice cream all day.

Malignant narcissism 

A corrosive recipe of narcissism, antisocial behavior, paranoia, aggression, and a topping of sadism. Grandiose, hostile, unable to tolerate even the smallest criticism, the malignant narcissist undermines families, organizations and associates, consistently attempting to dehumanize others by applying childish nicknames to diminish them in the eyes of others.
The phrase 'malignant narcissism' reminded him of someone, someone front and center, someone in his face, in everyone's face, all day every day... wait... wait... it would come to him.

comforting fiction

An untruth we tell ourselves, or tell others, to keep from having to face facts, and to ease us through hard times.
Just wash your hands and you'll be fine, warm weather will make it disappear, only old people can die from it... one comforting fiction after another could not disguise the truth that we were all in for a long, painful journey.

virtual vacuum 

The emptiness felt when real experience is replaced by virtual experience.
Another day of phone and computer, without human touch or eye contact, and she felt an aching virtual vacuum.

Virtual unreality. Disorientation resulting from too much screen time.
After months of virtual meetings, virtual birthday parties, virtual sex, he felt real life slipping away, drowning in unvirtuality.

Flirting with death by going shopping during coronaviral stay-at-home orders.
There was a strong chance of catching the virus, going out was playing Virussian Roulette, but she had stopped caring.
