The name Malo comes from Britain (in France) : Its the fusion of Mach (ostage) and Lou (light, shiny, pretty). Its the counterpart of the name Gislaberht, Giselberht in german, which is the combinaison of Gisal (gage) and Behrt (light, lightholder). The name Malo basically means "Prince of light".
