When PBS runs a pledge drive. Frequent, long, yet amazingly poorly produced commercial begging "Viewers Like You" to join PBS and receive incentive gifts.

M'Friend

When you introduce your lover, but don't wish to convey too much information about the exact status of your relationship, use this euphemism blur the distinction:

"Mom, Dad, this Cate, we are... er... m'friends" -or- "Hello Reverend. Have you meet my m'friend, Catherine"?

SOTA 

Acronym for State Of The Art, as being on the cutting edge of technology, the latest in fashion, owning the newest version of an appliance.

I was using (playing with) a Vic-20 long before most of humanity ever heard of RAM, or byte, or motherboard - I was so SOTA, I could hear the wind whistling in my ears.
