bird dogging

In sports, especially soccer, hockey, or basketball: not exerting much effort on the field, ice, or court except to wait for the ball or puck to come to you when your alone and have an easy shot at the goal or basket.

Bob is a lazy player but he has a lot of goals because he's bird dogging all of the time.
