pasta palace 

Refers to a kind of house style seen across most Australian cities, named for their Italian style and the Italian people who built them.

Can be described in simple terms as "Tuscan or Mediterranean Villa" style, most likely constructed during 70s and 80s but many remain to this day. Will always be of brick and tile construction, occasionally have stucco cladding, make frequent use of arches and can be one or two storeys tall. Some of the more lavish designs will have Roman style columns, porticoes and concrete statues. Often have satellite dishes and may even have ceramic tiling on balconies and patios, are divided into many small rooms inside.
Estate agent: the next house is a Mediterranean style villa with a lot of charm.

Client (looking at photos): I wouldn't mind living in a pasta palace.

Polly Pipe 

Slang term for the Northbridge Traffic Tunnel in Perth, Western Australia. Carries the Graham Farmer Freeway, Named after West Australian footballer Graham "Polly" Farmer. Polly Pipe can also refer to black plastic pipe and is a play on words.
Boss: You're late again.

Employee: Sorry, the Polly Pipe was really busy this morning.

Chockers 

Australian slang for "busy", comes from Chock-A-Block
Guy: Are you up for going shopping tonight?
Girl: It'll be chockers, can we go somewhere else?
