Achievement by proxy

When you are watching somebody that you are proud of or can relate to achieve a goal that they have been have been working towards and feel the same sense of relief or accomplishment.

Man 1: look at Jimmy over there finally relaxing after his weight lifter finally benched 500 pounds and won the strongman competition!

Man 2: looks like he’s got some achievement by proxy!

A game of chicken

When two fast vehicles drive full speed at each other and wait for the other vehicle to turn away. Whoever dos turn away is the chicken, but often times neither chickens out and they end up crashing.
