A dungeon is one of the primary tropes in D&D(Dungeons & Dragons) and a Mega-Dungeon is the true example of a properly designed dungeon. In RPG terminology it is a closed environment usually having many enemies and treasure. A Mega-Dungeon is very large and has 20 or more levels and has 500 rooms per level and up. The Largest known Mega-Dungeon has a full 1 million rooms.
Exploring a Mega-Dungeon in D&D(Dungeons & Dragons) is fun at an extreme level, providing that you have a good referee.

Get the Mega-Dungeon mug.D&D(Dungeons & Dragons) now referred to as OD&D(Original Dungeons & Dragons) published in 1974 was originally created by Dave (David Lance) Arneson in his home campaign called Blackmoor in 1971. After Dave Arneson introduced Gary Gygax to the game in 1972, Gygax took Arnesons unique transcendent creative concept and added a few of his own ideas and wrote the game published as D&D(Dungeons & Dragons) now referred to as OD&D(Original Dungeons & Dragons) .
D&D(Dungeons & Dragons)is now referred to as OD&D(Original Dungeons & Dragons) to separate it from all of the later inferior game versions bearing the names D&D and AD&D. The D&D versions referred to as 3.x, 4E and 5E are descended from the AD&D line and not from the original D&D line of games.
OD&D is the best and greatest of all roleplaying games and all other games are cheap inferior knockoffs of the original gem. OD&D is the One True Game.

Get the D&D(Dungeons & Dragons) mug.A dungeon is one of the primary tropes in D&D(Dungeons & Dragons). In RPG terminology it is a closed environment usually having many enemies and treasure. Any respectable dungeon should have at least 8-10 levels with at least 50-100 rooms per level as a minimum. If a dungeon is smaller than this it is a mini-dungeon.

Get the Dungeon mug.A derogatory term used to denigrate old school players of Dungeons & Dragons, and considered a gross insult among real old school players and DMs. Users of the term falsely claim that murderhobo was the style of play back in the day (1974-1978) and that is based on a false understanding of what old school play is.
Bitd the way that the original old school Dungeons & Dragons was played was as a game of exploration and management of resources. The normal play style meant that you a avoided combat when possible and gained treasure by other means. A player in those days only went into combat when it could not be avoided and only killed when it was necessary. The killing of innocents was always frowned upon. If the goal could be obtained through other types of interaction, that was the preferred day.
Adults who play the murderhobo style which involves killing innocents, even women and children, are people who have mental health issues

Get the murderhobo mug.The Original Dungeons & Dragons aka OD&D was published in 1974 and it was created first and foremost as a DIY game. Anyone playing BtB is ignoring the many admonishments in the text to take the game and make it you own. BtB players along with their close kin the evil rules lawyers, evil power gamers and and the extremely evil munchkins are anti-DIY and anti-old school and are in fact playing the game in its most limited and least fun form. The game is intended to be a free-wheeling fly by the seat of you pants romp through the multiverse. Anything less is cheating yourself and your players out of the most excellent time they could have been having.
So do not be a evil, cowardly, conniving, whiny weasel BtB/rules lawyer/power-gaming/munchkin. Instead embrace the DIY way and have some real fun. Instead of blindly using railroaded modules, create something original. If you are any good as a referee, then your players will thank you!

Get the Original Dungeons & Dragons mug.The One True Game refers specifically to the 1974 original version of Dungeons & Dragons that was published as 3 little booklets in first a small woodgrain color box and later in a small white box. This usage is by ardent supporters of the Original Dungeons & Dragons game and is an indication of their passion for and devotion to the original D&D game and is not to be taken as anything else.
No, no I didn't mean TETSNBN or TATSNBN or even YAATSNBN, I was talking about The One True Game, the Original Dungeons & Dragons.

Get the The One True Game mug.TATSNBN is The Abomination That Shall Not Be Named A Term used to refer to the 4th edition of the Dungeons & Dragons game (produced) by Wizards of the Coast, used primarily by those who prefer the earlier (TSR-produced) versions. It is a tongue in cheek play on the abbreviation TETSNBN.
