world domination

An event where one person, or perhaps even a group of people, have absolute control of the entire planet.

Usually a basic goal of the main evil character in a kid's action cartoon.

Something everybody wants.

The Philosophers Legacy

A legend/myth which occurred in 1945, when the 3 Allied Powers, United States, China, and Russia, combined funds, which in total was 100 billion dollars, to battle the Axis powers. This is how the Atomic Bomb and many other advances in technology was made. Rumor has it that a large portion of it is still hidden. The men and women who were involved in The Philosopher's Legacy were also known as the Twelve Wisemen's Committee, the Patriots, or the La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo

3dfx

A former maker of graphics processors, who dominated the 3d accelerator market from the mid-to-late 1990's. Tried to monopolise the market by buying the main board manufacturer at the time, but went out of business in late 2000 after thinking that their brand name alone would defeat Nvidia and ATI's superior products.

cowboy up

Essentially another term for self-endowment of strength and moral, or to another. Essentially another term for a similar phrase like, "toughen up", or "stop your belly-aching and fight!", etc etc.
"I'm sure this is a word made by southerners. I'm not southern, but I like the definition of what it means. Reminds me of me. ^_^ "

splinter cell

Another term for a splinter cell is a type of cell (aka : militia-type group) that is seperated into an, often secret, location.

Splinter Cell is the name of a kickass game from Tom Clancy (even though there is a claim that he had no relation whatsoever to its development), brought to us by Ubisoft. Sam Fisher is a splinter cell, working overseas by himself, but equipped with technology that lets his buddies in the US government pinpoint his every location and every doing.

Loaded

*To be rich and, pretty much, copius (filled with abundance, be it money, chicks, guns, etc etc etc).

*To be stoned.

*To have your weapons ready for battle, particularly guns.

*A PSone game that was released at the end of 1995. Made by Gremlin Interactive and published by Interplay, it was a game set in the future, in a bleak world, where you could take control of six lunatics, and basically go around splattering people with your guns. Re-Loaded was its sequel, and although Gamepro gave it a decent review at the end of 1996, popular belief is that it sucked. I myself have not played Re-Loaded, but I do own Loaded. Sometimes when I'm bored I pop Loaded into my PS2 and take great pleasure in splattering loonies, and reminiscing of the good ol' days. 1995 and 1996 were great years for me. ^_^ June 1996 was the time I discovered that Loaded was on my demo CD that came with my Playstation, and boy oh boy it was fun (I did also have Wrestlemania, Doom, Gex, and Wipeout; Doom was my most favorite really)......only one character could be played with though, and that was Mamma. But still....ahhhh, good times. ^_^

SLBM

Submarine-Launched Ballistic Missile

A nuclear missile launched from a submarine.
"There're warheads that can be launched from submarines and airplanes as well. But ICBM's are supposedly the better bet because, for example, aircraft-launched ballistic missiles are said to not guarantee a hit, or something like that. Maybe the same goes for SLBM. I dunno; I'm no nuclear weapons expert."
