Bung 

A type of burrowing, worm like creature that lives in large colonies with a queen. They typically live far underground, but often come to the surface, possibly appearing in suburban areas. They have thick skin and acidic saliva to withstand underground pressure. The burrows they create are called bung holes.

"I have a bunch of holes in my yard"
"Must be a bung hole"
