truckade

A group of trucks (minimum one per lane) on a limited access highway that are traveling side by side at the same speed or close to it, thereby making it difficult or impossible to pass.

Portmanteau of "truck" and "blockade." The idea originates from the blockades in the game of parchesi. See also Parchesie Block.
I cannot go any faster because of the truckade in my way.

Safe with the bank

When struggling to keep enough funds in your account and playing the float, knowing for a certain period of time (a day or more) that any check you have written will not bounce, and therefore having some peace of mind for that period of time.
I just deposited $100 into my account, so I am "safe with the bank" until Monday.

The check for the rent will not clear until Friday, the day I am getting paid, so until then, I am safe with the bank.

me-firsting lane

A traffic lane intended for some other purpose, such as turning or exiting, but used for "me-firsting" by a motorist.
A me-firsting lane can be any of the following:

1.) A turning lane when used to go straight. The motorist gets into that lane (which is clear), goes faster than the speed of others in the congested "straight" lane, and then sneaks in in front of another vehicle s/he was previously behind in order to get ahead in traffic and possibly make a light.

2.) An upcoming exit or merge lane used to pass slowed traffic on a highway, then sneak back into the lane where one previously was, but ahead of one or more vehicles.

Gruv's Disease

A neurological condition in which a patient suffers sporadic outbursts of anger starting in one's middle age.

Sufferers are known to be calm throughout their lives and never get angry until some time in their 40s thru 60s. This all ends with an outburst of verbal anger, typically directed against those known to the patient, in which victims feel threatened.

After first outburst, a few years will typically pass until the next outburst. Intervals between outbursts will divide in half from then on, until patient becomes unmanageable and must be institutionalized.

There is no known cure or treatment for this condition.

Not inherited, but occurs in white and black people, mostly those of Slavic, Mediterranean, and African descent, and never in Asians or Native Americans.
My brother had to be put in a nursing home because he had Gruv's Disease.

work aversion

The state of being turned off by working or being employed.

People with work aversion (or aversion to work) generally try to get by on as little effort as possible or avoid work altogether, or if employed, put a minimal effort into the work.

Those with work aversion in need of money often turn to drastic measures to try to get money, such as looking for effortless income or easy money, exhausting their savings and credit, getting into debt, begging, or even worse, unethical or illegal activity.

People with work aversion are not necessarily lazy and do not always lack a work ethic in their heart, but simply have a psychological difficulty in working.
My son has work aversion; he cannot push himself to go out and get a job.
