The indifference that prevents you from visiting a place of interest even though, or because, you live nearby. A sufferer is proxapathetic.
I live in London and, although my cousins from Canada have visited The Tower of London, proxapathy prevents me from doing so.

This perverse sentiment arises when the constancy of a friendship allows longer periods to elapse between meetings, without jeopardising that friendship.
We are such good friends that palapathy allows us to meet only rarely.
