When you try to inform
people about how their actions (ie, buying certain products, wasting
water, etc). are contributing to ecological devastation or social oppression, and they insultingly call you “
woke”.
I tried to inform my cousins about how buying that brand of
hummus contributes to Palestinians’ oppression and they I tried to inform my cousins about how buying that brand of
hummus contributes to Palestinians’ oppression and they hurled the slur “
woke” at me. I was wokeshamed.
