1. Pretending to diagnose a computer problem while actually looking the solution up on a web search engine such as Google 2. Making up a solution to an computer problem to save the user embarrassment.
1. Gary wasn't sure why Allen's driver wasn't installing, so he started troubleshitting until Google provided the answer for him.

2. Joanne simply hadn't plugged in her monitor, so Bill troubleshitted a "monitor driver conflict" so she wouldn't be embarrassed.

Not knowing the error code he used google to troublesearch the issue. Troublesearching is a fast way to find solutions.

The past tense of troubleshoot if it is done by an idiot and the troubleshooting fails.

The proper past tense of troubleshoot is troubleshot which would indicate a successful troubleshooting.
Hey did you figure out why this computer won't boot?
No, I troubleshat it and still can't figure out what's wrong?
