A term discovered by Bill O'Reilly towards the end of an unaired Inside Edition taping. At the time, Bill was an anchor for Inside Edition from 1989 to 1993 so the meltdown occurred in the middle of his tenure and days after the release of Sting's The Soul Cages. Used to describe a musical accompaniment for a stage exit.
Bill: "I don't know what that means; "To play us out." What does that mean? ...To end the show?
Producer: "Yeah. Yeah."
Bill: "Alright. Go. Go!"
Producer: "In 5, 4, 3..."

To play In someone's face 

It means to act disrespectful in someone's face either by sudden action or words
She was wrong to play in someone's face like that considering she acts like she's everyone's friend.

to play the Cartney 

Someone who plays the Cartney behaves in a very naive way. Consequently, this person is prone to be heathermillsed.
Paul was very naive when he didn't insist on a marriage contract. If he doesn't change, he will always be the poor bastard to play the Cartney.

to play safely 

To maintain sexual abstinence, or limit sexual encounters to the enjoyments of self masturbation.
Abstinence or self masturbation are the only choices for those who intend to play safely.
