Triglyceride

A non-polar macromolecule formed by a condensation reaction between a molecule of glycerol and 3 fatty acids. The glycerol and fatty acids are held together by ester bonds that form between the hydroxyl group of the glycerol and carboxyl group of the fatty acid.

Some properties include a low density and an ability to store a large amount energy due to the many carbon-hydrogen bonds that exist within the molecule.
Triglycerides are vital for energy storage within the cell.
