Slang for "small listening party" // "to listen to" // "consuming media together" // "doing the same thing, but apart from one another".

Inspired by the name of the band "100 Gecs". Though named after the band and their works, the word can be used for any album/playlist, show/film or any other media entity that is available online on streaming platforms and can be easily consumed by several people online.

Geccing usually takes place online - its use outside of online spaces (such as discord) has not been documented as of yet. An activity is called "geccing" as long as multiple people online are consciously doing it at the same time. As long as that applies, something as simple as sleeping can be gecced, too.
