An activist for social and
environmental justice who is against the process of hydraulic fracturing also called fracking. Fracktivists have united globally to prevent the negative impacts from fracking such as massive freshwater
consumption, hazardous chemical spills, billions of gallons of
toxic waste byproducts and earthquakes. Fracktivists generally take non violent direct action by holding forums, rallies, action camps, marches, blockades, contact blitzes, tree sits, locking themselves to equipment and occupying corporate and government spaces to overcome the high dollar PR campaigns of the Oil & Gas industry.
