An islander who is unfamiliar with the culture of the mainland they just set foot on and of the world in general.
This is an outdated
perception as most
islanders have a modern lifestyle. It could still be true for some nations, however.

Civilized person: "Why do you call her a fob? New Zealand is like the rest of the world."
Fob: "Hey, do you guys have any
tomato sauce?
I don't like eating plain fries."
Civilized person: "Oh,
you're right. Psht, what a fob."
*Civilized person bites off fry dipped in mayonnaise*

Not a fob: "Woh, New York! Do you meet Iron Man?"
Civilized person: "Definitely not a fob."
