a type of artificial grass commonly used in stadiums and public fields. its known for the ability to burn the shit out of the arms and legs of any brave player who decides to dive for the ball during a heated game, and for its dumbass name, which was inspired by the astrodome stadium in Houston, Texas, where it was first used.

A subset of Bluegrass's Newgrass movement, astroturf is equivalent to vaporwave bluegrass together. Or any pairs of microgenres within vaporwave and various style of bluegrass. This genre was a result of the Newgrass movement encouraging artists to explore further into ways to use technology mixed with roots music. Astroturf is a play on words because turf is literally just synthetic grass.

I got invited to a house show party and my friend said there'd be an Astroturf band there, and she explained that it was just vaporwave bluegrass.

A group of people pretending to be friends with each other (mostly for show) to project an image of togetherness, popularity, social skills/lives, unity, or support for each other. Fake it til you make it and become a real puppet master is the motto of an astroturf creator that really seems to believe that the turf they claimed as their own is really theirs to claim, offer others, or burn down, cut down, or demolish if they don't get their way or dollar signs.

He/she must have come from a planet where astroturf grows wild, because since he/she got here, he/she put down lots of it.
