An intervention required to save someone from the debilitating effects of their mobile device addiction.

Tom: "John has been texting Julia so much lately that his wireless bill was $600 last month, and the doctor says he's developing Carpel Tunnel Syndrome... and he's starting to look cross-eyed."

Matt: "Holy smokes, yo. I think he needs a textervention."

Tom: "Yah. We'll probably have to do it via group text though."

When a person hears that they got a text message but can't look at it for a while and all they can think about is looking at it.

I'm in this freaking meeting and i can't look at the text i just got. I got the worse texterection.

Much like a conversation, but one that takes place through texting. It can also be a conversation over instant messaging or a similar application. It feels weird calling a virtual conversation an actual conversation, to textervation is appropriate
