If anything is possible, why would anything be stunning in the true sense of the word? Stunning is an overused word.
It wasn't stunning when the team that nobody thought would win won, it was something out of the ordinary, no more, no less.

The word takes after WWE Superstar Stone Cold Steve Austin and his finishing move the "Stone Cold Stunner" where he stuns his opponent with a crotch kick and then does a neck breaker over his shoulder when the opponent bends forward.
