Term used to describe a text message in which you trick the other person into doing something and psych them out. Usually used with people you don't like to get back at them. Best used when you send the message from someone else's phone so you can't be tracked. Can also be turned into a game in which you and your friends attempt to get hold of other people's phones and send rekki messages.
"Mel sent me a message to meet her at the seven-eleven and she never turned up."
"Ohhh, she rekkied you!"
"Leah's such a bitch. I hate her."
"You should rekki her."
"Erin told me that Dan like, loves me so I messaged him and asked him out and he rejected me."
"Ha, you've been rekkied!"

Many migrants make a reconnaissance trip to Australia before making the big move. On the website Aussiemove.com it's become known as a "rekkie."
My husband and I went on a two week rekkie to Perth before we decided to sell our house in Gloucester and move our kids there.
