Baby boomers and older will really know this term as someone who is a complete jerk, generally a young person who is acting antisocially and NOT in a good way. Like flattening tires or breaking windows. The term was hijacked by the punk music movement. It's really a derogatory term and anyone who is associating it with being cool is a punk according to my definition.

a person who rejects societal pressures and norms, a person who fights for what they believe. Not with violence... exception being punching Nazi's and people just like them. Fighters for the underdogs and the downtrodden. Can be shown through art and dress, music etc.

Style of music that died in about 1996 but ask any little 14 yr old and they'll tell you different. Its pretty much a style where the guitarist plays really really fast and the bass player just figures something out to do because it doesnt matter, because you cant hear it anyways. punk fags are known for beating up little kids for their lunch money, and cant pick on anyone their opwn size.
