Post-Classical Logic

A broad term for logical systems that fundamentally break with the Classical tradition, often inspired by developments in quantum mechanics, continental philosophy, or computer science. Post-Classical Logic questions the very foundations: maybe the excluded middle isn't always excluded; maybe contradictions can be productive; maybe truth isn't the only thing logic should track. These systems embrace paradox, explore paraconsistency (allowing contradictions without exploding), and treat logic less as a mirror of reality and more as a tool among tools. It's logic that has accepted its own contingency.
"Quantum mechanics requires a Post-Classical Logic where particles can be in two states at once. Your relationship status might also require Post-Classical Logic if you're in that 'it's complicated' phase where classical true/false just doesn't capture the situation."

Post-modern Classics

Any fragment of today's culture which epitomizes its own functionality; meta-technology. Basically like steampunk things but not so shitty and gay.
Person 1: "Post-modern classics is basically the epitome of technological awesomeness, meean."

Person 2: "What is postmodernism anyway?"

Person 1: "Idk man i'm stoned as fuck."

Postclassical Postmodernism

An emerging form of postmodern thought that moves beyond classical themes while retaining the postmodern spirit of critique and contingency. Postclassical Postmodernism engages with new challenges—the Anthropocene, artificial intelligence, post-humanism—that the classical thinkers didn't anticipate. It asks what postmodernism means after nature, after the human, after truth itself has been transformed. Postclassical Postmodernism is postmodernism for a world that has exceeded postmodernism's original frameworks—a philosophy for the post-everything era.
Example: "Climate change, AI, genetic engineering—the classical postmodernists hadn't seen any of this. Postclassical Postmodernism asked new questions: what does deconstruction mean when nature itself is constructed? What does difference mean when humans are no longer the measure? It was postmodernism, evolved."

Postclassical Relativism

An emerging form of relativism that moves beyond classical debates to engage new challenges—the Anthropocene, artificial intelligence, post-humanism. Postclassical Relativism asks what relativism means when the "human" is no longer the measure, when "culture" is no longer the primary context, when "truth" itself is being transformed by technology. It's relativism for a world where the very categories of relativism are breaking down—a philosophy for the post-everything era.
Example: "AI could generate truths no human had ever considered; virtual realities offered experiences no culture had ever imagined. Postclassical Relativism asked new questions: relative to what, when the 'what' is no longer human? It was relativism evolved, for a world that had evolved beyond its founders' imaginations."
Cigarette: Northern slang for a cigarette, used oft by mashed up mancunian ravers becasue of the resemblance of a hot(electric)stove to the end of a lit cigarette. Originated circa 1991 in the early halcyon days of the rave culture; we speculate during a drug fuelled hallucination by said manc.
