As a musician, performing for a public/paying audience, such as at a bar, concert hall or event. Out refers to 'out in the world' beyond private performances like jams, rehearsals or playing for family and friends. Playing a 'gig.'

Term refering to an "out-of-style" or a simply bad hairdo. Popularized in east coast cities in the late 80's and usually refering to trendy haircuts amoungst black urban youth such as the High-Top Fade; the Stair Step; the Philly Fade; etc.
1. "That High-Top Fade is one played out phillie that only bamas would wear."
2. Customer: "Can I get some 'Z' stripes cut on the side of my head?"
