Niggardliness

Stingy, miserly, cheap, penny pincher, petty . This word appears unrelated to a slang term for people of African descent (nigger from the Latin -> niger -> black ) and probably comes from the Norse-> nigla -> consistently petty

Our house guest accused me of niggardliness when I got him a Busch instead of Heineken.
My niggardly grandfather only ever gave a quarter on my birthday, sans card !
Someone prone to niggardliness might count the pickles on their cheeseburger.

Niggard

A stingy or ungenerous person; one who is or is behaving niggardly. Despite popular belief, the word is actually historically considered highly offensive. Should not be confused with the word nigger, which is also highly offensive, but in a different way. In everyday speech, the two words sound nearly identical, so it's a good rule of thumb to save the word for print. It's considered pretty archaic anyway, so it's probably not a good idea to use it in any context unless you want to offend someone who has a less developed vocabulary.

niggardly

An from old Norse "hnøgger", which means "miserly", "stingy". Despite its similarity to the offensive term "nigger", the two words are not related in any way. Stop jumping to conclusions and open the dictionary.

English buff- "Boy that gentleman at the picnic sure was niggardly."

Ignoramus- "You said "picnic" and "niggerly"! Racist!"

English Buff- "*Sigh*! "Picnic" is from a French word that refers to what we'd call a pot luck, and "niggardly" is from an old Norse word that means "stingy". They have nothing to do with race!"

Niggardener

A Nigger that is also a Gardener. Most of them are haitian.

-Some cotton grew on my backyard so I had to call a Niggardener.
-The other day my Niggardener fell on the pool but he couldnt swim so he drowned.
-One time I caught my Niggardener planting some watermelons on my backyard without my permition. I had to go get the whip.
