(informal) An excessive amount of information concerning a problem such that the solution is made more difficult.

But more commonly used to describe misinformation being spread through various media, namely social media.

There is an infodemic of nonsense on social media about this new coronavirus.

Infodemication 

The act of consuming an overwhelming amount of information, often related to a particular topic or event, to the point of exhaustion or mental fatigue.

"I can't keep up with all the news about the pandemic - it's just too much. I think I'm experiencing infodemication."

"I've been feeling so overwhelmed lately with all the news and updates about COVID-19. It's like I'm suffering from infodemication or something!"
