gurgitator

"They are known as gustatory athletes, gurgitators and, in France, epicuriators. They are athletes in one of the oldest and most fundamental of disciplines - competitive eating."

Originates from the Latin root "gurga" or "gurges", meaning "throat".

This germ has gained widespread recognition via the IFOCE (The International Federation of Competitive Eating, Inc.), sponsor of competitive-eating contest such as Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest, held on July 4.
