The act of relaxing in a very comfortable position, preferably with a beer and playing video games or watching TV. Smoking marijuana is an optional activity while engaged in "bum nation".

Grandpa was a master of bum nation; he'd skip class all day and be passed out by 9pm.

Usually on November 1st and its usually celebrated with a bum and their best friend. The best thing to do on this day is to eat food and get fat and sleep off all the fat with the bum. When this day happens you can always be assured that there's always a bum right next to you.
