A secret society founded at the University of Maryland within the Greek community. This society was founded on the following seven virtues:

Kindness, Sincerity, Passion, Justice, Courage, Perseverance, Growth

This society does not seek recognition for itself, but rather seeks to recognize those who exemplify these virtues.

Arete drops off letters and gifts in order to recognize those they feel live out their virtues.

Arete is an organization located on the Realms of Despair - a free Smaug based MUD filled with Endless Medieval Enjoyment.

The Order of Arete upholds a commitment to maintain a sense of community while collectively aspiring to reach the highest human potential at all times.

Aretê

A girl with a huge heart, but who questions herself too much. Seems quiet at first, but as you get to know her, becomes more vibrant and alive than anyone you’ll ever know. Tends to overthink her actions, and may back away from a challenge, but is good at a lot of things, and should realize that. Has a few loving friends that would do anything for her, and who’ll always have their bitch’s back.

Areta

Focused, grounded and fearless!

Areta is hard working, dedicated and passionate. Challenges the thoughts and behaviours of others and has high standards. Not easily decieved and has zero tolerance for those who judge, gossip and belittle others. Family orientated, committed and over protective. At times may be hard to please but is loving in nature. Music is an essential component to enjoying life therefore likes to entertain yet will happily curl up with a good book!
