From one of the first popular jokes using profanity:
Old West Bar, men playing poker. Lone Ranger comes in. "You're all under arrest for gambling!"
The poker players say, "Fuck you!"
"But I'm the Lone Ranger. These are my silver bullets, and that's my horse Silver!"
"Well then fuck you and the horse you rode in on!"

I've read many of these "urban definitions" of the "fuck you and the horse you rode in on" phrase, and while most make sense, it's my experience that these individual metaphors are too specific. The OG definition is: Fuck you; a personal assault on the individual persona: "Fuck you and the horse you rode in on", extending that assault to any and everything associated with that individual.
Fuck you and the horse you rode in on.
"It's my experience that most definitions are too specific."
"Fuck you asshole!"
"Well everyone I discussed this with agreed with me."
