Yuppie (short for "young urban professional" or "young upwardly-mobile professional") is a term for financially secure, upper-middle class young people in their 20s and early 30s. And a thug in Modern English means a violent and/or anti-social person. Or a person, often a criminal, who treats others violently and roughly.
