Originating from the antagonist character, Ursula, from Disney's "The Little Mermaid". It refers to a mental condition usually afflicting fat, unattractive, middle-aged women who treat prettier, younger women with intentional disdain and scorn. This vindictive behavior is said to be the product of irreconcilable jealousy. Ursula Complex can manifest itself in private situations, within families, and even in public settings.
Symptoms include: Sideways glances at younger women, dirty looks, heightened gossiping, and overall unpleasant treatment of younger, prettier women for reasons that aren't made clear.

It encourages interaction within the group, which also means that the group's posts are more likely to be seen by other members, and an active group is more likely to be tagged in future discussions.

Just like her, the group's admins have the power to take away individual member's voices (by muting them) if they fail to follow the "contract" they agreed to. Originally found in Disney-themed groups, the term has grown legs (hah!) and is now seen here and there around Facebook.
