A term used to denote any stage in a fighting game that is favored above other stages as the primary arena. It is derived from the stage, 'Hyrule Castle', in SSBM being very popular.

Gamers (especially Nintendo fans) who are so fragile and desperate to justify their latest purchase that anything not calling the game the greatest thing in the history of everything that they are sent into a frothing rage.
The term was first coined Jim Sterling who was subjected to harrassment, death threats, and having his website DDoSed after giving Zelda: Breath of the Wild a decent score of 7/10. Jim then went on to compare the "hardcore Zelda fanatics' " fragility to the poor weapon degredation system in BotW which was one his criticisms in the offending review.
