The verb 'to herbst' is derived from the name of an individual who was a short-standing but keen member of the moves team in a Southampton based company. He was famed for his love of barbequed food and his odd time recording skills. The original incarnation of the verb 'to herbst' was in relation to his accidental dropping of a metallic leg panel down the shaft of a lift, comically sliding from the desk to which it was formerly attached through the narrowest of gaps between the lift car and the floor landing whilst attempting to manoeuvre the desk out of the lift. From this day "to accidentally drop something down the shaft of a lift" is know known as "to herbst".

An effective maneuver for when you have an extreme amount of intestinal gas causing pain or pressure. Usually this occurs after a first date, or an important event where you cannot be flatulent for an extended period of time.
To perform the maneuver, simply undress your lower half, sit on a toilet, and begin to slowly rock your body from side to side, bending over as far as you can, and holding for a moment at each side. Since your intestines are somewhat of a winding, circular structural path, this effectively helps the gas bubbles find their way out. Similar to the concept of how the Epley Maneuver treats Vertigo in the inner ear.

Geran Mcdonals Herbst is probably one of the nicest guys you will ever meet in you entire life. He is really down to earth and any girl's dream guy. He has awesome taste in music, and is someone you can talk to for hours without getting tired of the conversation. He really is an amazing guy.
