You’ve heard people say “yikes” but this is describing one, singular yike. You would say it to describe something VERY embarrassing you or your friend has done.

A situation that has evolved from a “yikes” to a more severe type cringy, uncomfortable, embarrassing or otherwise unfortunate moment. Can also be used to mock, insult, or “throw shade”

“Big yikes” is used when you see something so frightening/disturbing, saying a simple “yikes” wouldn’t be fitting to the situation.
