Refers to an --- ahem! --- "non-exclusive" marriage between two people who aren't that careful/experienced regarding the art of "securing ropes tightly".

Despite all of da hype and fanfare regarding da 1981 "royal wedding", said famous/infamous union turned out to be merely a "loosely-tied knot" on both sides of da equation!
