Not all posers try to be someone in that genre, some posers try to be "gangster" or "prep" or some other ordinary steriotype, to fit in with their peers so that people don't think different of them than what that person wants them to think. It's actually a shame, that posers are ahsamed of who they are, so they have to pretend to be someone else to be satisfyed.
Kids who come home from school and take their spike bracelets off, and wipe off their eyeliner, because they think it's uncomfertable.. but, when they go to school, or go to the mall with their friends, they put all that stuff back on because that's what he/she wants his/her friends to think they dress like because that's what they dress like... they are posers.
