To search for (to google) someone on the internet, out of a social curiosity or a general interest. The phrase implies a benevolent intent. It is meant to convey that the person doing the search is taking care to avoid being intrusive and to respect common social boundaries.
I stalked you gently online before I came over today. There was not much to find! You don't have many posts on your social media.

It was a cold, foggy and breezy day, the wind was moving the trees. The day already seemed to show that it is going to be be sad, and this moment in history shall be remembered forever, the clouds were dark, this was not an usual day, this is the day OpposingFork was not online, 25th October 2023. Truly, a sad day...
The Day OpposingFork Was Not Online is a poetic text made by no other than Dako himself. Praises to Dako for creating this inspiring and motivational poem, this is truly world changing and it deserves a nobel prize for showing the feeling of opposingfork not being online.

When a YouTuber refers to a fanbase (or just people online in general) usually without realising their opinions don't matter and the internet's all a wash anyway.
This mainly affects normal people who are watching for a productive conversation, as it bogs down your video with an argument against people who will never listen to you and would never change regardless.
Moral of the story, don't spend valuable time in your video letting pixels on a screen make you angry.
