A racial slur originating from France, referring to a loud and annoying black individual. Originally, “bamboula” referred to an African drum and dance, symbolizing cultural expression and resistance among enslaved Africans. Over time, in France, it was co-opted as a pejorative term, dehumanizing Black individuals by reducing them to stereotypes linked to music and dance.
