Ambush Date

When you have been taken out with out realizing it is a date. After this unknown date you are told it was a date.

One day after crew I caught a bite to eat with a guy friend and had a nice long conversation. Needless to say later in the night I was caught off guard...

Andy: Did you enjoy our magical 2 hours and 3 minute date?
Jess: ::confused look at computer screen:: what date?
Andy: :: confused look at computer screen:: Our ambush date,duh!

A person that can't find a date and then takes themselves to the places they would have taken their date on (a movie for one, a dinner for one etc...). A romantic scenario for just one person. aka self date....

Guy 1: Bro, this chick bailed on me and I'm already at the dinner place.

Guy 2: Just do what I do, and go on a single date. That way you get to home and score!

Deadbeat Date

A date for prom/other social gathering that asks you to go with them and then disappears into obscurity and avoids contact with the person they asked until said event. The end result is a very awkward situation that makes the receiver of the date request wonder why they even said yes in the first place.

Dude 1: "Dude 2, who's Pam going to prom with?"

Dude 2: "Ummm, I have no idea Dude 1, I think its Chad"

Dude 1: "Oh yeahh, Chad asked her like two weeks ago but they haven't seemed to talk since..."

Dude 2: "That's mad awk man, hes such a Deadbeat date to her."

Periods of time when everyone decides that they need a boyfriend or girlfriend, and rushes to get one immediately, not caring who they end up with. Most common in middle-schools and high-schools.

Eric: *listening to the rumors and watching all the guys and girls sit next to each other* Dating frenzy...
Best friend (girl): Hmm.. Eric, I always thought you were kind of cute... Wanna hook up and go to the up-coming dance?
Eric: Please stay away from me...
Several other girls: Hey, Eric, cutie-pie, take me to the dance?!
