When a text bubble pops up while anticipating a response from a text message and all of a sudden the text bubble disappears and you are left wondering what the text recipient was planning to send.

Jeremy bubble ghosted me after I sent him a two-paragraph text message expressing my love for him. I knew he read it because he was texting me back but he suddenly stops texting after anxiously watching his text bubbles for 20 seconds! He never responded. Bubble ghosting is annoying

Double Dog Ghosting

A retaliatory act that is taken if you've been the victim of ghosting whereby in the event the ghoster ever in the future re-attempts to communicate the original victim can ignore the ghoster and claim the double dog ghost.

I can't believe Edson ghosted me and four months later decided to hit me up for a booty call. I am totally double dog ghosting him.

Ghosting

When someone you (consistently) talk to suddenly stops responding without notice. Their goal is to end the relationship without hurting the other's feelings but it ends up creating more confusion and frustration. Often utilized by immature jerks.

Person 1: Are you & Nelly still talking?

Person 2: Nope, the bitch is ghosting me.

Person 1: What a c****
Person 2: Truth.

Ghostie

To take an unofficial day off work without any effective communication to the employer and with the employer not noticing one's absence.

"Mate, did you not go to work today?"
"No man."
"So did you call in sick?"
"Nah"
"Well what did they say?"
"Nothing. Pulled a total Ghostie man".
(hand movement similar to the '4' score in cricket can also be employed at this point.)
