When Christ walked the earth he was hated for what he taught because it meant that those who were in power, selfish or otherwise had misinterpreted what the prophets throughout time had taught, were wrong and needed to repent. For this same reason there are many antagonistic portrayals of the Mormon (LDS-Ladder Day Saint) people. Rarely if ever will one hear a member of the LDS church say anything derrogatory about another or their religion. However, incessantly there are those who are consumed with the urge to insult or otherwise demean in every possible way the Mormons. This is a very accurate indication that the same spirit that possessed the people that hated Christ 2000 years ago is alive and well today. That spirit is mean and devilish and is the root of all that is evil in the world today.
Why are people so negative to Mormons? For the same reason that Christ and his followers were hated and abused.
